Welcome to I Passed Math

Built by a GED math teacher who has spent years figuring out what actually helps adult students pass the hardest of the four tests.

Welcome!

I've been teaching GED math since 2017, and over the years I've noticed a few things that can make the difference between a student passing or not passing the math test.

What Makes the Difference
1

Most students need a plan

Many of the students I taught scored in the mid-130s on the GED Ready, which often meant they had missed many years of high school and never fully learned their math facts. I developed the Study Path for these students. It emphasizes algebra earlier and delays some of the more difficult basic math concepts until later.

2

Students need easy practice tests

Students need an easy way to complete practice tests, whether it's for a quick review of a math category or to measure their progress. That's why I built 23-question practice tests into the website, just like the GED Ready, and created category-specific practice tests as well.

3

Practice works best as a test

I've found that students tend to do more problems and learn more during a study session when practice is presented in a test format. That's why I created the Guided Practice tests. They're a little easier than the real GED, but they highlight important ideas to remember and provide instruction within the questions themselves. My hope is that they're a good way to start learning a new skill before moving on to more GED-level questions.

This website has been a lot of fun to build, but it's not perfect. I'll continue refining questions, improving explanations, and making changes that better reflect the GED and improve the overall experience. I also intend to create a Spanish version of the site and eventually expand into the other GED subjects if there is enough demand.

I hope you find it useful!
